Overview: Currahee Club is a private Jim Fazio championship course in Toccoa, Georgia, set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains beside Lake Hartwell. The routing uses elevation changes, woodland edges and open overlooks to create a mountain course that changes scale from hole to hole. Fairway movement and sloping lies make the choice of landing area as important as raw distance.
History: The course opened in 2003 as the golf centerpiece of Currahee Club’s private lake community. Jim Fazio’s design is presented today as a 7,513-yard championship course, with the surrounding property retaining three miles of private Lake Hartwell shoreline.
Did You Know? The club’s name comes from nearby Currahee Mountain, a landmark whose Cherokee-derived name is commonly translated as “stands alone.” That local reference suits a course whose holes repeatedly open to separate views of the lake, foothills and surrounding Georgia countryside.
