Overview: Curlewis Golf Club is a public-access Bellarine links with sandy ground, naturally undulating couch fairways, few trees and large contoured greens. The course measures 6,150 metres, approximately 6,726 yards, and is presented by the club as a demanding par-71/73 challenge depending on the playing configuration.
History: The course officially opened in 1970 after East Geelong Golf Club acquired the land. Kevin Hartley enhanced the original Vern Morcom design in 1976, and a further master plan by Michael Clayton led to significant improvements in 2001; new ownership from 2015 accelerated the modern investment.
Did You Know? Wind is one of Curlewis’s defining variables: the club notes that it often determines the level of difficulty as the firm greens and open corridors expose the course to changing conditions.
