Overview: The Nicklaus Marsh/Pines routing at the Country Club of Landfall is part of a private 45-hole club in Wilmington. Jack Nicklaus designed the original 18-hole course through coastal woodland, marsh and water features, with the surrounding property giving the routing a distinctly southeastern coastal character.
History: Nicklaus Design says the first Nicklaus 18 opened in 1990, and a further nine holes followed in 2000. The club's 45-hole total includes Pete Dye golf as well, so the Marsh/Pines label is necessary to distinguish this Nicklaus routing from Landfall's other golf.
Did You Know? Landfall's Nicklaus golf began with an 18-hole course before the club reached its present 45-hole total. The target's 1988 date is retained as historical directory data, while the documented first Nicklaus 18 opening is 1990.
