Overview: The Regulation Course at the Country Club of Detroit is a private 18-hole course in Grosse Pointe Farms. Its current character is the result of several architectural eras, with wooded parkland, strategic bunkering and a routing adapted over more than a century.
History: The club was founded in 1897, the first golf course followed in 1898, and the present property received Harry Colt and Charles Alison work in the early 20th century. Robert Trent Jones Sr. later altered the course, and Tom Doak has been involved in restoration work.
Did You Know? The course history is unusually layered: its date refers to the club's founding, while the current layout incorporates work from Colt, Alison, Jones and Doak.
