Overview: Cottesloe Golf Club is a historic Western Australian links at Swanbourne, where scrub, sand hills and coastal movement give the 18-hole course its underlying shape. Graham Marsh Golf Design has been the consulting architecture team for the long-running effort to refine the course within its existing corridors.
History: The club was founded in 1908 and moved to its present Swanbourne site in 1931, where volunteers carved the course from scrub and sand hills. Graham Marsh’s company was appointed consulting architect in 1994, with a later remodelling programme focused on safety, routing and the club’s centenary ambitions.
Did You Know? The present site’s original 18-hole course was carved with the help of a horse and plough, a reminder of how directly the early layout was built into the sand-hill landscape.
