Overview: The Bay Course at Costa Navarino is an 18-hole, par-71 seaside layout at Navarino Bay in southwest Greece. Robert Trent Jones II routed the course through three contrasting environments: seaside holes beside the water, canyon sections with changing elevation, and grove holes among established olive trees. From the back tees it measures about 5,614 metres, and most teeing grounds have views over the Bay of Navarino. It is a positional course where the shorter scorecard does not remove the need to choose sensible angles.
History: The Bay Course opened in October 2011 as the second signature course at Costa Navarino, following the Dunes Course. Jones II designed it as an alternative to the resort's more inland-feeling first layout, using the existing landscape and historic bay as the organising idea. The course's early recognition included a place on Robb Report's 2012 Best of the Best list, but its identity is primarily rooted in the combination of seaside, canyon and grove terrain.
Did You Know? Two holes play along the historic Bay of Navarino, and the resort describes the short fourth as a strategic par four directly facing the water with Pylos visible behind the green. The course also contains six par threes that Jones called the charm holes. Together with the old olive trees in the grove section, these features give the round a rhythm that shifts repeatedly between open coast and sheltered inland ground.
