Overview: Cornerstone Club is a private mountain course south of Montrose, Colorado, on high country ground between Montrose and Telluride. Greg Norman’s original routing uses broad alpine views, natural elevation changes and open landing areas, with the course stretching across a large landscape rather than being compressed into a resort corridor. The result is a long, exposed test where wind and lie quality matter.
History: The course operated from 2008 to 2011, closed during the Great Recession, and reopened in 2019 after a renovation by Matt Dusenberry and Dusenberry Golf Course Design. The current course therefore combines Norman’s original design with a later restoration and reopening.
Did You Know? Cornerstone has hosted the Colorado Golf Association Senior Amateur twice, including the 50th championship in 2021. Its location roughly 300 miles from Denver also makes it an unusual championship venue within the state’s high-country golf geography.
