Overview: The Gold Course at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, is a private parkland course. Originally designed by Devereux Emmet and expanded by George and Tom Fazio, the layout was redesigned by Arthur Hills. It features rolling fairways, strategic sand bunkers, and undulating greens that test the player's strategic placement, shot-making, and short game on a beautifully maintained property that has hosted several championship qualifiers over the years.
History: In 2000, Arthur Hills redesigned the course to serve as a championship alternative to the Blue Course, adding multiple water hazards and rebuilding the green complexes to modern standards.
Did You Know? The finishing hole on the Gold Course is a par-four playing over a lake to a green situated directly below the club's historic Mediterranean-style clubhouse. This layout provides a dramatic finish to a round, with the clubhouse balcony offering spectators a clear view of the final shots.
