Overview: CommonGround is a public Tom Doak design in Aurora that turns a former municipal golf site into a strategic, natural-feeling course. Wide fairways, varied green approaches and wind across the open ground create options for different skill levels while preserving enough challenge for championship play.
History: The Colorado Golf Association transformed the former Mira Vista site, with Doak and Renaissance Golf Design leading the redesign. CommonGround opened in 2009 as a public course intended to provide high-quality golf and a gathering place for the state's golfing community.
Did You Know? The public layout is 7,229 yards from the back tees and par 71. Its name reflects the public mission behind the project: a championship-quality course designed to be shared by golfers with very different levels of experience.
