Overview: Designed by the legendary James Braid and situated in the grounds of Jerviston Estate in Motherwell, Colville Park Golf Club is one of the finest parkland courses in Lanarkshire. Originally a nine-hole course opened in 1923, it was extended to a full 18 holes by Braid in 1925, who returned in 1928 to personally design the strategic bunkering. The layout is a masterpiece of Braid’s trademark routing, featuring rolling fairways, bold hazards, and large, true greens. The course offers a robust and consistent test of golf that reflects the timeless principles of early 20th-century design.
Did You Know? The club was founded for the employees of the Colville Steel Company, and the corporate history of the region is woven into the fabric of the estate. The course is particularly famous for its mature lime and sycamore trees, which create a grand and sheltered atmosphere for the round.
