Overview: The Cold Spring Country Club property in Huntington is a private parkland course with 18 holes’s Cold Spring Harbor area on Long Island. Seth Raynor designed the course across more than 170 acres of rolling, wooded terrain, and the club describes the holes as varied enough that no two feel alike. The current blue-tee scorecard measures 6,547 yards at par 71. Mature trees, elevation changes and separated corridors give the round a composed, estate-like feel, while the greens provide the sharper test expected from a Raynor course.
History: The property began in 1919, when Otto Kahn commissioned Raynor to design a course as part of a large estate. In 1947 the golf property was sold to former Willowbrook members, who formed Cold Spring Country Club and converted the estate stables into a clubhouse. That layered history remains visible in the way the course winds around the estate landscape. The club has continued to maintain the Raynor foundation while developing the broader country-club facilities around it.
Did You Know? The club says the holes are replicas of courses Otto Kahn played around the world. It is a striking detail because the Long Island setting is local, but the design idea behind the individual holes draws on a much wider golf journey.
