Overview: Cobblestone Golf Course in Acworth, Georgia, is a well regarded public parkland masterpiece designed by the respected architect Ken Dye. Winding beautifully along the banks of Lake Acworth, the course features rolling, tree-lined fairways, dramatic sand bunkers, and complex, elevated green complexes. The layout offers daily-fee players an exceptionally scenic and strategically demanding test that is consistently recognized as one of the premier municipal courses in the state.
History: Opened in 1993 under the ownership of Cobb County, Cobblestone was envisioned as a top-tier daily-fee course that would compete with the area's premier private clubs. Ken Dye utilized the rolling lakeside topography to craft a course that emphasizes strategic bunkering and precise approach play. In 2010, the course underwent a comprehensive, highly successful renovation that updated the green complexes to modern Champion Bermuda turf and reconstructed the bunkers, ensuring its status as a top public venue.
Did You Know? Cobblestone is known for its back-to-back lakeside holes, particularly the par-4 15th, where the fairway and green run directly along the shores of Lake Acworth.
