Overview: Club de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela is an 18-hole course in the hills of the southern Costa Blanca. Pepe Gancedo’s design follows a rugged Mediterranean site with pine trees, ravines and fast, sloping greens. The fairways do not present the wide, level corridors associated with some nearby resort courses; the landform supplies much of the strategy, and the correct side of a landing area can matter more than raw distance. The club’s current presentation identifies the course as a par-72 layout, while pair-specific tee distances vary and are not asserted here.
History: Las Ramblas opened in May 1991 and is one of the courses that established the Orihuela Costa as a golf-travel destination. Gancedo’s approach was to use the existing character of the site, including its pine-covered ravines, rather than flattening the terrain into a uniform resort template. The course has since retained that distinctive, somewhat dramatic identity.
Did You Know? The name refers to the ramblas, dry Mediterranean watercourses that help shape the playing corridors. Those natural cuts are not just scenery: they influence sightlines, carries and recovery choices, which is why Las Ramblas can feel more demanding than its scorecard length suggests.
