Overview: Situated on the scenic hills overlooking the Ullibarri-Gamboa reservoir near Vitoria, Larrabea is a refined and rhythmic parkland sanctuary designed by the "Picasso of Golf," Pepe Gancedo. Characterized by its ancient oak and beech forests and narrow fairway corridors, the layout prizes tactical shot-making and a deep appreciation for the quiet beauty of the Basque landscape. With its par-72 challenge and reputation for impeccably maintained green complexes, Larrabea offers a high-quality competitive experience that feels deeply authentic to its rugged Northern heritage.
History: The club was founded on February 23, 1988, and the finished 18-hole championship course was officially opened in 1991. Architect Pepe Gancedo carefully integrated the routing into the existing natural oak forest and hilly topography.
Did You Know? Larrabea is the home club where Spanish golf superstar Jon Rahm grew up and honed his world-class skills as a junior player before moving to the United States.
