Overview: The New Course at La Zagaleta climbs through the hills above Marbella, using steep gradients, ravines and panoramic Mediterranean views to create a very different experience from a flat resort course. The layout plays to par 70, and its drama comes from the mountain landform and the need to judge uneven lies.
Did You Know? The New Course opened in 2005. Golf-course architecture sources associate the project with Gaunt and Marnoch, while the resort itself presents the New and Old courses as a private 36-hole estate set within a former hunting landscape.
