Overview: Club de Golf La Sella ~ Gregal/Mestral is one of the two 18-hole combinations created from La Sella’s 27-hole resort near Dénia. The exact routing joins Gregal and Mestral, with the Montgó massif and Mediterranean vegetation providing the setting. Gregal is the more open and gently contoured nine, while Mestral introduces newer holes and broad fairways into the round. The resort describes the 27 holes as a José María Olazábal design; a pair-specific yardage is not published consistently enough to convert safely here.
History: La Sella was established as a multi-nine golf destination and has evolved as the resort has developed. Olazábal’s design uses pine, native vegetation and the natural slopes of the Marina Alta, creating three nines that can be combined in different ways. The result is a visitor course whose identity depends on the two nines printed on the day’s card.
Did You Know? “Gregal/Mestral” is not a decorative subtitle. It is the playable 18-hole routing recorded for this directory entry, and it explains why a La Sella scorecard may differ from another golfer’s account of the same resort. The name Gregal also reflects the local Mediterranean wind vocabulary.
