Overview: Real Club de Golf de La Coruña is an 18-hole private course at La Zapateira above the city. Scottish architect Philip Mackenzie Ross designed a parkland routing that uses Galician terrain, mature vegetation, and changes in elevation to create a varied round.
History: A group of local golfers met in 1961 to create a course in A Coruña, and Mackenzie Ross supplied the broad design plan. The club became one of Galicia's early full golf facilities and continues to identify 1961 as its foundation year.
Did You Know? Mackenzie Ross is associated with courses in Spain, Great Britain, France, and Portugal. La Coruña is part of a wider body of work by a Scottish architect whose influence reached beyond Galicia.
