Overview: The Red routing at Club de Golf de Sant Cugat is part of a historic, tree-lined setting just outside Barcelona. The club describes its course as an urban green lung, with mature vegetation and a layout that rewards placement through the trees.
History: Work on the Sant Cugat course began under H.S. Colt in the early 1910s, and the club says golfers were playing the 18-hole course on its original grounds by 1914. The club was formally registered in 1919. The land included vineyards and the 14th-century Can Mora farmhouse.
Did You Know? Frederick Stark Pearson acquired the Can Mora property in 1912, linking the course's early story to Sant Cugat's development. The club's continued presence on the original grounds is unusual for a course so close to Barcelona.
