Overview: Club Campestre Golf Resort Tijuana is an 18-hole par-72 parkland course in the city’s Agua Caliente district. The official club describes 52 traps and a full regulation layout, while the course’s history places the green space inside one of Tijuana’s most urban settings. Mature trees frame the holes and the city remains part of the backdrop, creating a different atmosphere from a remote resort course. The result is an urban country-club layout whose playing identity comes from the contrast between established fairways and the movement of the city around them.
History: The course dates to the Agua Caliente golf tradition and is associated with William P. Bell’s original 1927 design. In 2022, Agustin Pizá was commissioned to prepare a restoration masterplan intended to recover the character of the historic course rather than replace it with an unrelated modern layout. The club’s current material also points to a long competition history and to golfers who developed there, so the course is important as both a playing venue and part of Tijuana’s sporting heritage.
Did You Know? Club Campestre Tijuana has produced several internationally successful Mexican golfers, including Víctor Regalado and Ernesto Pérez, according to the club’s own course page. That player history is closely connected to the course’s urban character: the club is not isolated from the city, but has functioned as a local training ground whose mature 18-hole layout helped shape generations of golfers on the border.
