Overview: Clear Creek Tahoe is a private mountain course in the Sierra Nevada near Carson City. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw routed the holes across pine forests, rock outcrops and mountain meadows, using existing terrain with limited earth movement and a strong connection to the ranch landscape.
History: The golf course forms part of historic Clear Creek Ranch, a property with timber, cattle and wagon-route connections dating to the nineteenth century. The Coore and Crenshaw course opened in 2009 and was developed alongside a conservation-led private community.
Did You Know? The property protects 853 acres through a permanent conservation easement with The Nature Conservancy. Recycled water is used for irrigation, and the layout was designed to reduce turf and earthmoving.
