Overview: Classic Golf Resorts and Club's Ridge/Valley routing is the 18-hole championship course at the foothills of the Aravalli range near Gurgaon and New Delhi. The current operator lists Ridge at 3,541 yards and Valley at 3,573, producing a 7,114-yard, par-72 round from the championship tees. Jack Nicklaus designed the facility around natural hillocks, waterways and strategic shot values rather than a purely distance-driven test. Ridge rewards accuracy and introduces the round through a varied landscape, while Valley is the longer and narrower half, asking for controlled ball striking as the course builds toward its finish.
History: Nicklaus Design records Classic Golf & Country Club as open from 1998 and identifies it as a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course. The facility was planned with an 18-hole championship course made up of Ridge and Valley, plus the separate nine-hole Canyon executive course. That distinction is important for the directory: the present profile describes only the exact Ridge/Valley combination. The course became one of the best-known modern golf developments in the Delhi NCR, and the club has hosted major professional and corporate events, including the Indian Open and the Panasonic Open.
Did You Know? The 11th hole on the Valley nine is a par three that the operator says can play close to 225 yards from the black tee. Its length, narrow surrounding fairways and demanding target make it one of the clearest examples of the Ridge/Valley course's preference for precision over simply hitting the ball as far as possible.
