Overview: Situated on the wooded hills overlooking the River Foyle, City of Derry Golf Club is a historic and highly scenic parkland course. Established in 1912, the layout has matured over a century into a lush, tree-lined sanctuary. Characterized by its narrow fairways, well-protected greens, and its spectacularly fast putting surfaces, "Prehen" (as it is locally known) offers a classic "thinking man's" test in the shadows of the Northwest's historic walls.
Did You Know? The club is a pillar of the Londonderry sporting community and has significantly evolved from its original humble roots, maturing into a premier championship venue. It remains one of the most consistently well-conditioned clubs in Ulster, famous for its grand, contemporary clubhouse and its "short but technical" layout that rewards strategic shot-making over sheer power, providing panoramic views across the river valley toward the Donegal mountains.
