Overview: Located near Pula on the southern coast of Sardinia, Italy, the Campionato Course at Circolo Golf Is Molas is an 18-hole coastal parkland course designed by Cotton, Pennink & Partners. The layout winds through a Mediterranean landscape of pine, myrtle, and mastic bushes, featuring rolling fairways, strategic sand hazards, and large green complexes. Highly exposed to coastal sea breezes, the course demands accurate driving and precise distance control.
History: Opened in 1975 to establish Sardinia's first championship resort, the course quickly achieved international recognition. It has hosted numerous major events, including the Italian Open on the European Tour four times (1976, 1982, 1999, 2001), welcoming champions like Nick Faldo and Sam Torrance to its fairways.
Did You Know? The course offers views of the sea and the adjacent historic coastal towers. It is set just a short distance from the ancient Roman ruins of Nora, an archaeological site that sits on a peninsula jutting into the Mediterranean Sea.
