Overview: Chura Orchard Golf Club occupies a hillside above Okinawa’s East China Sea coast, with subtropical trees, sea views and a varied 18-hole routing. The current course guide lists par 72 and 6,138 yards. Fairways move through a mixture of rises, drops, valleys and water features, so the course asks for more than a single resort-style strategy. The surrounding vegetation gives the layout a distinctly Okinawan frame.
History: The operator records an opening date of November 3, 1970, and credits Ryuzo Asami and Hideo Takemura with the design. The course later became associated with the Daikyo Open, adding a tournament chapter to a property already known for using its coastal hillside rather than hiding it behind heavy landscaping.
Did You Know? The official course description calls attention to the fifth hole as a signature test. Across the round, the combination of uphill and downhill golf, valley lines and water hazards creates the feeling of moving through several small landscapes, even though the course remains on one compact coastal property.
