Overview: Chisholm Links is Dunedin Golf Club’s coastal course on the land between St Kilda and the Pacific. It is a true links-style round at par 71 and about 5,700 metres, where wind, firm ground and uneven lies matter as much as raw length. The holes along the upper ground bring wide views over Tomahawk, St Clair and the ocean, while the greens and surrounding slopes reward a player who can control trajectory and accept that a safe miss may be some distance from the target.
History: The course began on reserve land during the Depression years under the name Ocean Beach Links, later becoming Chisholm Park Golf Club. It was branded Chisholm Links in 2016, and the club adopted Dunedin Golf Club as its current name in 2024. Greg Turner has worked on the course and describes its land as well suited to classic links golf. The layout hosted Australasian PGA Tour events in 2001, 2002 and 2004.
Did You Know? Holes 8 through 11 run along the high ground and provide some of the course’s broadest ocean views. The sequence includes the 9th, often called Lawyer’s Head, a hole whose setting makes Chisholm Links feel much longer and wilder than its scorecard suggests.
