Overview: Chicago Highlands is an Arthur Hills design in Westchester, built across a dramatically reshaped site close to the Chicago skyline. The modern links-style course stretches to about 7,490 yards and uses broad movement, large landforms and strategic bunkering to create definition. Its elevated ground and open views make it feel more expansive than its suburban setting suggests.
History: The club was founded in 2010 on a former landfill site. Arthur Hills transformed roughly 270 acres, using more than 80 feet of elevation change to build a complete golf landscape where there had previously been a very different kind of urban land use. The course remains a private club and the current published championship yardage is just under 7,500 yards.
Did You Know? Chicago Highlands was built on a former landfill. The course’s most dramatic landform is the large mound around the ninth hole, a reminder that the site’s elevation was created as much by earthmoving as by natural topography.
