Overview: Cherry Hills Country Club occupies 272 acres in Cherry Hills Village, south of Denver. William Flynn's routing uses the Colorado landscape with broad fairways, mature trees, and strategically placed hazards, while the property remains closely tied to the club's tournament history.
History: The club was founded in 1922 and William Flynn designed the course. Cherry Hills has hosted the 1938 and 1960 U.S. Opens, the 1941 PGA Championship, and the 2023 U.S. Amateur, giving the course an unusually deep national championship record.
Did You Know? In the 1938 U.S. Open, Ralph Guldahl made a 19 on the par-four 16th hole. The score remains the highest recorded on a single hole in U.S. Open history.
