Overview: Cherry Blossom Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole public course in Georgetown, set within a 427-acre enclave of gently rolling Central Kentucky bluegrass. Clyde Johnston's design uses the broad pastoral setting to create a traditional parkland round with changing sightlines, mature landscape features and enough strategic variety to reward thoughtful positioning. The course is part of Cherry Blossom Village, but its open Kentucky setting gives the layout a distinct identity beyond the surrounding development.
History: Cherry Blossom opened in 2001 and quickly became one of the most prominent public courses in the state. Golf House Kentucky has used the course for major events, including a U.S. Open local qualifier and the Kentucky Women's Amateur. The venue's early reputation was also reflected in Golfweek recognition: the course was voted Kentucky's number-one public course for several consecutive years from 2004 through 2008, according to the course history carried by KentuckyGolf.com.
Did You Know? Cherry Blossom has served as a gateway to the U.S. Open for Kentucky golfers. In 2021 it hosted the state's sole local qualifier for that year's championship, putting the Clyde Johnston layout at the centre of the first stage of national major-championship qualifying.
