Overview: Chee Chan Golf Resort is a modern Pattaya-area course set beside Khao Chee Chan, whose Buddha engraving is visible from every hole. David Dale of Golfplan shaped the 18-hole routing across rolling land that rises and falls more than the surrounding coastal plain might suggest. The official scorecard measures 7,345 yards from the black tees at par 72. Wide sightlines, sloping ground and carefully placed water and bunkers give the course a clear strategic identity, while the mountain image remains a constant reference point as the round moves from one hole to the next.
History: The course opened in December 2018 after a construction period documented by the golf-architecture press. Dale’s brief was to make a new layout feel integrated with its setting, using the prominent mountain and the available elevation changes as part of the design rather than treating them as background decoration. The club’s own material credits GCH with the landscape design, so the present course is best understood as a coordinated golf and landscape project.
Did You Know? The opening hole immediately establishes the visual language of Chee Chan. From the clubhouse area, the Buddha engraving is already in view, and the official hole guide describes a straight par four with a generous fairway but guarded green. Later holes revisit the same landmark from different angles, including the closing stretch, so the mountain acts like a recurring compass through the entire routing.
