Overview: Chaska Town Course is a municipal 18-hole layout south of Lake Bavaria in Chaska. Arthur Hills spread the course across roughly 285 acres of oak groves, open prairie, water, and marshland, giving the public course an unusually broad setting for a Twin Cities round. At 6,812 yards and par 72, it offers variety through changes in landscape and approach angles rather than sheer length. The course can serve as a serious test while still providing multiple routes into the holes for golfers using different tees.
History: Chaska Town Course opened in 1997 as a city-owned public golf facility intended to serve both recreation and championship golf. Hills' design soon became part of the area's larger tournament infrastructure, close enough to Hazeltine National to support major events. The course later co-hosted the 2006 U.S. Amateur, with Chaska Town Course used for stroke play alongside Hazeltine National's match-play venue.
Did You Know? The course's landscape is unusually diverse for a municipal layout. Its 285 acres combine mature oak groves, open prairie, marshlands, and Lake Bavaria, so the course changes visual character from hole to hole instead of presenting one continuous parkland corridor.
