Overview: Champions Retreat Golf Club's Bluff/Island entry combines two of its 27 holes: the Bluff nine by Jack Nicklaus and the Island nine by Arnold Palmer. The private Evans, Georgia, property uses river, woodland and rolling ground to separate the three distinct nines.
History: The club's story describes the 27-hole facility as born in 1999 and completed as a collective project by 2005. Gary Player designed the Creek nine, while Nicklaus and Palmer designed Bluff and Island respectively.
Did You Know? Champions Retreat became the host venue for the Augusta National Women's Amateur, connecting its multi-nine design to an important event in modern women's golf.
