Overview: Centennial Golf Club’s Lakes/Meadows routing combines the property’s water-oriented Lakes nine with the more varied Meadows nine. The par-72 combination measures 7,115 yards from the longest published tees, using 3,599 yards on Lakes and 3,516 on Meadows. Designed by Larry Nelson, the 18-hole experience runs through rolling Carmel terrain with ponds, rock outcrops and broad views. It is a substantial pairing that rewards both confident driving and careful decisions around water and uneven ground.
History: Centennial opened in 1998 as a 27-hole facility, with Larry Nelson designing the Fairways, Lakes and Meadows nines as a flexible group. Lakes/Meadows is one of the intended 18-hole combinations, not an accidental pairing, and the club’s multiple tee positions allow the same route to be presented at different levels. The facility’s practice areas and instruction programs have added to its role as a major daily-fee golf destination in the lower Hudson Valley.
Did You Know? Lakes/Meadows is the longest of Centennial’s three standard 18-hole pairings by the published longest-tee yardages. The difference comes from combining the 3,599-yard Lakes nine with the 3,516-yard Meadows nine.
