Overview: CAVU Golf Club, formerly Naples Grande Golf Club, is an 18-hole private par-72 course in Naples. Rees Jones created the original layout, which uses elevation changes, a 30-acre lake, natural waterways and Florida pine hammocks, live oaks and cypress to give the course more movement than its resort setting suggests. The last clearly published pre-renovation championship setup measured 6,955 yards; current post-renovation tee data is not publicly listed in the club's accessible pages.
History: Rees Jones's course opened in 2000 as a resort course for Naples Grande Beach Resort, with private memberships also available. The club was renovated by Beau Welling in 2025 and announced a transition from its former semi-private model to a fully private club in February 2026. The current CAVU identity therefore represents a renamed and recently reworked version of the Naples Grande course.
Did You Know? The name CAVU comes from an aviation term meaning clear ahead, visibility unlimited. The club's water design is unusually deliberate: the official course description places a 30-acre lake in the layout and credits Hugh Hughes with a babbling brook that comes into play on three holes.
