Overview: Situated in the eastern Algarve near the Spanish border, the Grouse/Atlântico combination at Castro Marim Golfe offers a diverse 18-hole experience across undulating terrain. The Atlântico nine, part of the original 2001 design by Terry Murray, features pine-lined fairways and significant elevation changes, while the newer Grouse loop (added in 2008) is more open, providing far-reaching views across the Sapal de Castro Marim nature reserve. Together, they create a layout that rewards strategic thinking and accurate approach shots to elevated greens.
Did You Know? The resort’s location provides a unique vantage point where players can view three distinct water bodies from the highest points of the course: the River Guadiana, which forms the border with Spain, the Atlantic Ocean to the south, and several large internal lakes used as signature hazards. The hilly nature of the property is so pronounced that most club members and visitors recommend using a buggy for this specific combination.
