Overview: Castletroy Golf Club is a premier championship parkland course located on the outskirts of Limerick City. Established in 1937 and originally designed by the prolific Eddie Hackett, the course underwent a major renovation by Eddie Connaughton in 2006 to bring its bunkering and green complexes up to modern international standards. Known for its wide fairways and mature tree-lined corridors, Castletroy is a frequent host for national amateur championships, prized for its exceptional conditioning and strategic depth.
Did You Know? The club is often referred to as "the nursery of Limerick golf" due to its highly successful junior program which has produced dozens of international amateur champions. The 2006 redesign carefully preserved the "Hackett bones" of the layout while adding modern USGA-standard greens, ensuring that Castletroy remains one of the most competitive and well-respected inland courses in Munster.
