Overview: Designed by European Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie, this "inland links" is a world-class test of strategy and shot-making. Unlike the lush O'Meara course on the same estate, the Montgomerie is characterized by its wide, firm fairways, deep pot bunkers, and significant elevation changes. Opened in 2003, it has hosted the Irish Open three times and is widely regarded as one of the most demanding and unyielding championship tests in the British Isles.
Did You Know? Montgomerie's design was inspired by the ancient links of Scotland, featuring massive "stadium-style" bunkering and technical greens that run at professional tournament speeds year-round. It is the headquarters of Golf Ireland and serves as a premier training ground for the nation's elite amateur and professional players, offering a visceral and unrelenting challenge of the "mental game."
