Overview: Woodside and Lakeside form an 18-hole combination at Cantigny Golf in Wheaton, Illinois. Roger Packard designed the public 27-hole facility, with Woodside moving through mature woods and Lakeside using water more prominently.
History: Cantigny opened in 1989 on the former estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick. The facility now includes Woodside, Lakeside and Hillside and continues to evolve through renovation work.
Did You Know? Golf Digest highlighted Cantigny as Roger Packard’s Chicago-area public project and a Best New Public Course in 1989.
