Overview: El Delfín Golf Course is an 18-hole par-72 layout at Campeche Country Club, west of San Francisco de Campeche. The current club describes a course planted among tropical hills and valleys, with the terrain producing uneven shots and changing elevation rather than a flat coastal resort loop. Views toward the Bay of Campeche sit beyond the playing corridors, while the vegetation and water features give the course a distinctly southeastern Mexican character. Greg Letsche designed the course, whose two nines play to different pars, 37 on the first nine and 35 on the second.
History: El Delfín was created as the golf centre of the Campeche Country Club development and was inaugurated as an 18-hole course in the mid-2010s. The design is associated with Greg Letsche, whose background included work with major golf architecture firms before the Campeche project. The club has also been selected for national amateur competition, helping establish the course as more than a residential amenity. Current club material presents the main course separately from the practice area’s shorter executive holes, so the profile remains focused on the El Delfín 18.
Did You Know? The state tourism description highlights the 15th hole, where a waterfall becomes part of the playing environment. The course also contains six artificial lakes, including one described as navigable by kayak, while the surrounding vegetation includes ceiba, flamboyant and chaca trees. These features make El Delfín’s water and tropical landscape part of the course’s routing identity, not just decorative planting around the fairways.
