Overview: The Camargo Club, nestled in the exclusive enclave of Indian Hill near Cincinnati, Ohio, is widely regarded as one of the most pristine and beautifully preserved Seth Raynor masterpieces in existence. Opened in 1925, this golden-age layout is celebrated for its incredible collection of classic par-3 template holes and its elegant routing over rolling, wooded hills. It remains a deeply private and understated sanctuary where golf is played in its purest, most traditional form, framed by beautiful mature hardwoods and meticulously maintained turf.
History: Commissioned by yeast magnate Julius Fleischmann, the course was routed and designed by Seth Raynor but completed shortly after his untimely death in early 1926. The club has spent the subsequent decades fiercely protecting Raynor’s original plans, resisting the urge to modernize the layout, and preserving the bold, geometric shapes of the sand traps and green complexes. Recent restoration work has carefully recovered the original scale of the bunkers, returning the course to the exact strategic layout Raynor intended.
Did You Know? The "Biarritz" 8th hole at Camargo is legendary among golf historians. Unlike almost all other Biarritz templates where the deep, central swale is maintained at putting green height, Camargo maintains this trench at fairway height, presenting a unique strategic challenge that requires players to either fly their shot entirely onto the back tier or play a creative pitch-and-run through the dip.
