Overview: Caldwell Golf Club is a scenic and technical parkland course located near the village of Uplawmoor, south of Glasgow. Originally designed by Open Champion Willie Fernie in 1903 and later updated with strategic advice from James Braid in 1927, the course is set within the former Caldwell Estate. The layout offers a balanced mix of flat terrain and gentle slopes, characterized by its mature tree-lined fairways and views across the East Renfrewshire countryside, providing a high-quality inland test that rewards accurate approach play and strategic positioning.
Did You Know? The course features a unique signature hole known as the 3rd, a short par-3 aptly named "Risk an' Hope," which requires a precise shot over a deep valley. Despite being less than 20 miles from the heart of Glasgow, the club preserves a tranquil, rural atmosphere where the legacy of its legendary architects is still visible in the technical bunker placement and the demand for creative shot-making on its undulating greens.
