Cabo Del Sol (The Cabo Del Sol Course)

Overview: The Cabo Del Sol Course is an 18-hole par-72 desert layout above the coastal resort corridor of Cabo San Lucas. The current resort description gives 7,049 yards and presents the course as an oasis winding through canyon-like arroyos, with desert vegetation, mountain backdrops and ocean views from every hole. Tom Weiskopf created the original routing, while the current course has been renovated by Fry/Straka. Its character comes from the contrast between generous desert scale and sharply framed landing areas, where native washes and sculpted bunkers make the intended line part of the challenge.

History: The course began as Cabo del Sol’s Desert Course, opened in 2001 as Tom Weiskopf’s first Latin American design. A later redevelopment added six holes near the base of the surrounding mountains and reworked the playing order, after which the property was rebranded as the Cabo Del Sol Course. That history matters when comparing older guidebooks with the present routing: some descriptions refer to the Desert Course, but the current resort and club use the Cabo Del Sol Course name for the renovated 18-hole layout.
