Byneset (North)

Overview: Located on a spectacular, windswept peninsula overlooking the Trondheim Fjord, Byneset Golf's North Course is one of Norway's most scenic and challenging coastal layouts. Designed by British architect Donald Steel alongside Tom MacKenzie and Martin Ebert, the course features firm, fast fairways, deep sod-walled bunkers, and large, undulating greens. The layout blends parkland and links characteristics, with the constant coastal breeze and the stunning fjord views providing a formidable strategic defense.

History: Opened in 2002, the North Course was built on a former agricultural estate, utilizing the natural sandy loam soil to ensure excellent drainage and firm, traditional playing conditions. Over the decades, it has established itself as the premier championship venue in central Norway, hosting national tournaments and attracting golfers seeking a windswept, links-style challenge.

Did You Know? The course is situated so far north that during the peak of summer (June and July), the club offers tee times around the clock, allowing players to experience the unique thrill of playing a full round under the magical midnight sun.
