Overview: Bundoran Golf Club is a historic and scenic clifftop links course perched on a headland overlooking Donegal Bay. Originally founded in 1894 and significantly redesigned by the legendary six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon in 1927, the course offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Dartry Mountains. The layout is a classic seaside test characterized by its firm, fast fairways, deep bunkers, and the unpredictable winds that sweep across the Wild Atlantic Way, providing an authentically rugged Donegal golfing experience.
Did You Know? The club was a central part of the Great Northern Railway's strategy to develop luxury resort amenities in the late 19th century to encourage rail travel across Ireland. The legendary professional Christy O'Connor Snr. served as the club professional here in the 1950s, sharpening his world-class skills on the same clifftop holes that continue to challenge and inspire visitors today.
