Bull Bay Golf Club

Overview: Bull Bay is an 18-hole coastal course on the north coast of Anglesey, with fairways moving through valleys and over plateaus above the sea. Herbert Fowler used the natural undulations rather than smoothing them away, so blind shots, elevated greens, rocky ground and gorse all form part of the test. The setting brings views across the Irish Sea and towards Snowdonia, but the changing lies keep the round focused on placement.

History: Bull Bay's course was officially opened on 16 August 1913 and was designed by William Herbert Fowler. The opening attracted a large crowd, with five-time Open champions J. H. Taylor and James Braid taking part in the day's golf. The club later worked through financial pressure after the First World War, wartime Home Guard use and the construction of a new clubhouse, opened in 1994.
