A course-wide renovation plan began under superintendent Clay Payne and is scheduled for completion in 2026, coinciding with the 50th anniversary. Local and regional sources have repeatedly recognised Buffalo Dunes as one of Kansas's leading municipal courses, while the course continues to host the Southwest Kansas Pro-Am alongside Southwind Country Club.
