Brudenell River Golf Course (River)

Overview: Brudenell River is the older 18-hole course at the Brudenell golf destination, a garden-and-river layout shaped by broad fairways, manicured greens, lakes, ponds and abundant planting. Golf PEI describes an unusual scorecard balance of six par threes, six par fours and six par fives, while the current comparison chart lists par 72 and 6,541 yards from the back reference. The course is scenic without losing its strategic variety.

History: The full 18-hole course opened in 1969 under the direction of Robbie Robinson and later became part of the Rodd Brudenell River Resort complex. Its long-standing popularity helped make it one of PEI’s best-known golf destinations, with the newer Dundarave course later adding a separate championship routing beside the same practice and clubhouse facilities.

Did You Know? Brudenell River’s six-by-six-by-six scorecard is more than a curiosity: it gives the round a changing cadence, with the player moving repeatedly between short precision holes, conventional par fours and longer par fives. The course has also hosted professional events, including Canada’s first women’s skins game, the 2000 Lorie Kane Island Challenge.
