Brudenell River Golf Course (Dundarave)

Overview: Dundarave is the newer 18-hole routing at the Brudenell River golf destination on Prince Edward Island. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry designed the par-72 course on red sandstone ground, using broad fairways, coastal-influenced wind and the island’s rolling landscape to create a full championship test. Golf PEI lists 7,089 yards from the back tees, with multiple shorter tee sets for a more playable resort round.

History: Dundarave opened in 1999 after a construction period affected by dry weather, and it was developed as the sister course to the older Brudenell River layout. The two courses share practice grounds and clubhouse facilities, but the architectural identities are distinct. Dundarave’s Hurdzan and Fry routing added a more modern championship option to the eastern PEI golf itinerary.

Did You Know? The course is built on red sandstone, a geological detail that appears in the bunkering and the visual language of the property. Dundarave also hosted the Legends of Golf event featuring Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, bringing a major-name exhibition to a course that had only recently joined the island’s golf landscape.
