Brooksville Golf & Country Club

Overview: Brooksville Golf & Country Club combines a traditional, tree-lined front nine with a more dramatic back nine routed through an abandoned limestone quarry. The 18-hole Brooksville course is listed at par 72 and 6,812 yards, with rolling fairways, live oaks, and exposed rock walls shaping the later holes.

History: The clubhouse held its grand opening on April 18, 1971, on a layout originally associated with William Mitchell. Later work added the quarry holes and reshaped the back nine under Bobby Weed, creating the unusual split between the course’s traditional opening and its rock-walled finish.

Did You Know? Brooksville’s twelfth hole was honored by Golf Digest as one of the 18 most fun holes in America. The quarry is not scenery beside the course; several holes actually snake through and around the former limestone mine.
