Brisbane Golf Club (Championship)

Overview: Brisbane Golf Club's Championship course is a substantial 18-hole layout at Yeerongpilly, a short distance from the Queensland capital. The current blue course is listed at 7,259 yards and par 71. Its character comes from a long-established parkland site, mature vegetation, shaped fairways and bunkering that rewards a player who chooses the right side of the hole. The length is real, but the course still asks for control on approaches and a reliable short game when greens are missed.

History: The club was formed in 1896 at Chelmer before moving to the Yeerongpilly site, where the course was born in 1904. Carnegie Clark provided the original design direction. Over the decades the layout has been influenced by Alister MacKenzie's ideas, later work by Wayne Grady and continuing input from Ross Watson. The present Championship identity therefore reflects a long sequence of Australian design and maintenance decisions rather than one isolated rebuild.
