BRG Kings Island Golf Resort (Mountainview)

Overview: Mountainview is the upland counterpart to BRG Kings Island’s Lakeside course. Pacific Coast Design shaped the 18-hole, par-72 routing around the hills and ridgelines near Hanoi’s Dong Mo reservoir, with the current course page giving 6,978 yards from the gold tees. The routing’s appeal lies in its changing elevation and wide outlooks across the surrounding landscape. Drives can look inviting from above, yet the next shot is often governed by a sloping stance, a rising or falling approach and the need to place the ball where the green can be attacked.

History: Mountainview opened in 2004, eleven years after Lakeside established the Kings Island resort as a golf destination. The two courses were developed as distinct experiences within the original 36-hole property, with Mountainview using higher ground and natural contours where Lakeside works along the water. BRG’s later expansion to 54 holes added the Jack Nicklaus II Kings Course in 2018, but Mountainview remains a separate routing with its own Pacific Coast Design identity.

Did You Know? The course was planned around the mountain scenery near the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. That setting is not just a backdrop in the club’s description. The surrounding ridges help define the visual scale of the holes, so the round repeatedly alternates between open panoramic views and more focused shots shaped by the land immediately around the fairway.
